The Lord is her shepherd, she does not want. He maketh her to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth her beside still waters. He restored her soul.

Ms. Barbara was the daughter of the late Dorothy Powell and Daniel Rodgers and Cora Lee + George Crawley. She was born September 12, 1960, in Newport News, Virginia. She departed this life on Friday July 19, 2024, in the hospital surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy Powell and Daniel Rodgers and Cora Lee + George Crawley and her grandson Jamari James.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Jermale Cooper and Brandy Willis and her two sons, Yumar Porter (w/ Janet) and Tovaris Porter. Two godson’s, James Parker (w/ Lavonda) and Lonnie Freeman. Nine grandchildren, Stanley Cooper Jr., Zaniah Willis (w/ Shaq), Corey Cooper, Zenia Cooper, Brandon Kelly, Javonni James, Akaisha Porter, Tovaris Porter Jr., and Talia Jones. Along with one great grandchild, Noni Wong. Three sisters, Wanda Ford (w/ Earl), Jackie Sapp, Alfreda Jones. Three Brothers, Robert Powell, Wayne Powell, and James Powell.

A memorial service will be held in her hometown at Second Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia. Details to follow.
