Brent Warren Nelson left this life on April 13, 2024, after a brief hospitalization in The Woodlands, Texas. Brent was born in Rochester, Minnesota and lived with his parents and 3 siblings in Mankato, Minnesota before moving to Minneapolis, where he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in electrical engineering. A self-described computer nerd, Brent was part of the first generation of computer microchip designers who brought us the technologies that we now take for granted as essential parts of everyday life.
Brent married his college sweetheart in 1982 and raised a family together living in Minneapolis, Seattle, Houston, and Milwaukee before returning to the Houston area in 2020. Brent’s greatest joy was his family, but his BMW motorcycle was a close second. He found refreshment and renewal on long rides through the countryside, exploring and connecting with other “bikers” at stops along the way.
Brent is survived by his wife, Liz, sons Erik (Meghan) and Daniel, granddaughter Freya, a large and beloved extended family, and a circle of cherished friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 3:00pm at Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Church 1370 N. Millbend Dr. Spring, TX 77380. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter Donate to homeless animals in Montgomery County Texas (mcaspets.org) or Habitat for Humanity Habitat Online Donation - Habitat for Humanity International
