Emile Sergio Sumter

Emile Sergio Sumter, 54, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2019 in Houston, Texas.  Emile was born on November 12, 1964 in Groot Kwartier, Curacao to Johan Ferdinand Sumter and Harriette Josephina de Randamie Sumter.  Emile is survived by his wife of 12 years, Camille Sumter, siblings, Louis Sumter, Siegfried Sumter (Bernardine), Marie Casper (Urwin) and Humberto Sumter (Claire) and many other loving family members and friends.

Growing up in his beloved Curacao, Emile rode his BMX bicycles with his lifelong friends. As a young adult Emile moved to the Netherlands where he studied and became a sterile processing technician. He was a sterilization tech for thirty years. In 2007 Emile moved to Texas and adapted by buying his first cowboy hat and his  cherished Mustang. He began working at Texas Children’s Hospital. He loved helping out co-workers professionally and personally. Emile had a passion for scuba diving, Ford Mustangs, anything Star Wars, including collectible vehicles and other memorabilia, and anything related to Curacao. He loved being silly and making people laugh. Emile had a heart of gold and never met a stranger.  His promise to us all is that "all will be well". Emile's absence will be felt by many.

His homecoming services for Emile will be held this Saturday, March 23, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 27707 Glen Loch Drive, The Woodlands, Texas, 77381 at 11:00 am.  There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. The burial will immediately follow the service, and procession, at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery, 18000 I-45 South, Shenandoah, Texas 77384.
