Gabriela Mendez, 89, went  into the Lord's hands on January 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving daughters, Gloria and Patricia.   Gabriela was born in Houston, Texas to Jose Corpus and Josephine (Rios) Corpus. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jesus Mendez; daughter, Josephine Castro; and grandson, Paul Salazar.  Left to cherish her memory are her children, Juanita Perez, Yolanda Lee, Rosemary Salazar, Juan Mendez,  Manuel Mendez, Sylvia Black, Isabel Lozano, Patricia Guerrero, Gloria Guerrero, and Gabriela Martinez. Gabriela was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and had many family members whom she loved with all her heart.  Her strong will and dedication to family were shining examples of her character. Her faith kept her strong and that characteristic is carried on to so many.  We love her and we will miss her dearly.....she was my Grandmother. Her mass was at Our Lady of Guadalupe, January 17, 2019 and laid to rest in Forest Park Lawndale with her family members who passed before her.  We know she is reunited with her parents, her  children and also her grandson. That brings our family so much consolation. Thank you to all those who have expressed their condolences and supported our family during this difficult time.
