Helen Ruth Reynolds McDermott, born March 4, 1924, died December 29, 2017, after a brief illness in Tomball, Texas. Helen was born, raised, and lived in Denison, Texas for 90 years. She has resided in Tomball, Texas for the last 3 years.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Sharon Lee McDermott Denoux, of Gulfport, Mississippi and Susan Eileen McDermott Gobin, of Tomball, Texas and her son, Edgar Patrick McDermott, Jr. of Garland, Texas. She is also survived by her grandson, Jeremy Patrick Denoux, granddaughter, Leah Chelsee Gobin-Keese, and great grandchildren, Xander Patrick Gobin-Keese, Avery Quintin Gobin-Keese, and Catherine Elizabeth Gobin-Keese, son-in-law, Noel Denoux, and grandson-in-law, Jonathan Keese.
Helen was a devoted wife to the love of her life, her late husband, Edgar Patrick McDermott Sr., for 35 years. She was a wonderful mother and friend. She volunteered at Texoma Medical Center for 20 plus years where she formed life-long friendships that she cherished dearly.
She will be cremated and the final resting place has not been determined. The family will have a private memorial and would ask that any tribute to Helen be in the form of a donation to St. Jude Children's Research hospital in lieu of flowers. It was her favorite charity.
