Howard “Hal” D. Barr, 65, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Houston Methodist
The Woodlands Hospital. He was born on April 6, 1955 in Warwick, Rhode Island, the son of
the late James and Patricia Barr.
Hal graduated from Boston College with a degree in Business Economics and Political Science
in 1977. He had a successful career in the financial industry and was known for his
accomplished public speaking abilities. Hal was also a published author.
Hal was passionate about his two children, Hayley and Keaton. He loved the Lord and was
involved in his church home by participating in baptisms and working in the children’s ministry.
He loved the water, traveling and playing golf.
Hal leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children, Keaton Barr, Hayley Cestafe and her
husband, Eddie Cestafe; his older brother, David Barr; two nephews, and numerous friends.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday, February 19 at 11a.m. at The Chapel in the
Woods at Woodlands Church, 1 Fellowship Drive, The Woodlands. Those who wish to
remember Hal in a special way may make contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Research
