A loving mother that cared more deeply for her children than for herself has passed. Jeanette Marie Martin (Zalesak), age 78, of Tomball, Texas, died on September 30, 2023.
She was born in Pasadena, Texas in 1945 to Emil and Mary Zalesak. She is survived by her children, Sherry Berlien and husband Jack Berlien, Shannon Prochnow and wife Bette Prochnow, Shauna Martin, and Shalyn Martin and fiancé Jason Beiswanger. She is also survived by her grandchildren Blaine Chard, Karian Chard, Zoie Prochnow, Sydnie Prochnow, Sara Spicer, and Joe Spicer, as well as her great-granddaughter Sadie Spicer. She is also survived by her two brothers and sister.
Jeanette spent most of her life caring for her four children and was their greatest cheerleader in life. Her positive words of encouragement let them always know they could be themselves and achieve anything they strived for. Although times never seemed easy, and struggles were many, she always found a way to get herself and her children through the toughest of times and stronger for it on the other side of the challenges.
She was a passionate artist through a multitude of mediums. From her childhood through her final days on the earth, her happiest times of reflection were in front of a blank piece of paper or painting canvas ready to create a new masterpiece. Whether she was drawing, painting, or assembling a cake, she was in her happy place. Over her lifetime, she created countless amazing cakes for so many, from birthdays, to weddings, to space orbits. It was truly amazing to see her creations. In passing, she left behind hundreds of pieces of amazing art for the rest of the world to reflect on for years to come. Over the years she shared her passion by teaching cake decorating classes and painting classes, and passed along her creativity to her children as well.
Jeanette will always be remembered for her love of her children, her art, and her willingness to share whatever she had to give. We’ll always imagine hearing her say “love you” one last time, as she truly meant it. She will be missed greatly by those that truly knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
