Joan Luanne Westgard

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joan Luanne Westgard (Hollings) at the age of 60 on March 21, 2023, in Cypress, Texas. Luanne was born on June 19, 1962, in Campbellford, Ontario, to the late Bill & Helen Hollings (Porter). She is survived by her loving spouse, David, her son, Cody Westgard, and daughter, Danica Barron. She is also survived by her brother, Kevin Hollings, sister, Laurae Topot, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Luanne spent her childhood in Hastings, Ontario, and moved to Alberta at the age of 20. In 1985, she met David, and they married in 1989, residing in Calgary, until they moved to Texas, in August 2000.

Luanne had a successful career in the music and insurance industries, but her true passion was being a dedicated mother to her children and building a beautiful life for her family. She was also a talented baker, expert card player and kind-hearted soul. She loved to travel, but her most cherished moments were spent with family and friends.

Luanne had a bright smile, wonderful witty sense of humor and great passion for life. She was intelligent, thoughtful, and creative, and she will be dearly missed by many. 

Please join us for a celebration of life on April 8, 2023 from 1pm – 5pm at her home in Cypress and enjoy some great food and refreshments.

A service will be held on June 3, 2023 at the Trent Valley Cemetery in Hastings, Ontario followed by a Celebration of Life
