Jody Marie Isbell, 58, stretched her butterfly wings and flew to heaven where she was welcomed into loving arms by her mother, Doris, father, Rufus, brother, Robert, and nephew, Chad on January 15, 2022. God decided to call her home after a year's long battle with endometrial cancer. Her funeral service will be held on January 20, 2022, at Family First Funeral Home followed by her final resting beside her family on Friday, at Calvary Hill Cemetary.
Jody was born on November 11, 1963, in Houston, Texas to Rufus and Doris Kennard. Shortly after attending Sam Houston High School, she went on to work for a florist, where she learned she had a hidden talent and passion for making floral arrangements. She fell madly in love and tied the knot to her sweetheart, Larry Isbell on January 21, 1984. Together they raised 2 children Eric and Amanda. Mrs. Isbell permanently made Houston her home, and in her free time, you could catch her singing, "I love the nightlife" at her favorite karaoke bar, Papa's, or traveling with her daughter and grandson, Aiden. She also liked to attend Christian concerts such as TobyMac and Zach Williams because she felt it rejuvenated her spirit. But more than anything else in the world, she especially loved to call people clowns. She will always be remembered as a caring soul with a dash of sass, but would not blink an eye to lend out a helping hand when others needed it. Your legacy will live on and thank you for being the best mother God could ever bless a family with. - Eric & Amanda
