John Anthony “Tony” Mulryan, Sr.

John Anthony “Tony” Mulryan, Sr., passed away peacefully in his home on Monday November 8, 2021.  He was born May 7, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Thomas and Mary Mulryan.  Tony was the fourth child out of seven. Tony graduated from Smithville High School in Smithville, Indiana in 1958.  After graduating from high school, Tony enlisted in the United States Air Force.  In 1960, while stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas, Tony met Veronica Dodds.  After being stationed in the French Morocco as Station Fire Chief from 1960 to 1961, Tony and Veronica would marry in Hallettsville, Texas on June 18, 1961.  Tony would return to Indiana to finish out his active-duty assignment at Bunker Hill Air Force Base in Peru, Indiana from 1961 to 1962.  Returning from Indiana, Tony would serve an additional 2 years in the Air Force Reserves at Ellington Air Force Base being honorable discharged in 1964. After his service in the United States Air Force, Tony would work for the Spring Valley Police Department until going into the Industrial Linen field where he would earn a First Grade Stationary Engineering License.  Tony would continue working in the linen field until he took his knowledge of Industrial linen to become an independent distributor. Tony is predeceased in death by his wife Veronica after 59 years of marriage, his parents Thomas and Mary Mulryan, sister Rosemary Austin, and brother Joseph Mulryan. Tony is survived by his three children; John A. Mulryan, Jr., and his wife Dale of Anahuac, daughter Tracy Quigley and her husband Michael of Rosenburg, and daughter Heather Mulryan Hartley and her husband Shawn of Houston along with six grandchildren Mary, Casey, Cully, Rebecca, Stacy Ryan and Connor and four great-grandchildren Grayson, Everett, Audrey, and Rowan.  Tony is also survived by his brother Michael and sisters Kate, Dolores, and Shelly. A service of remembrance and interment will be held on December 2, 2021, at 2pm @ The Houston National Cemetery.  A celebration of life reception will be held after the services at Logan’s Steakhouse 12950 N.W. Freeway, Houston, Texas 77040 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Flowers and condolences may be offered at family residence - 3005 Teague Rd., Houston, Tx 77080 A special thank you from the family to the hospice nurses that cared for Tony.  You are truly spectacular!
