Katherine Marie Lobdell

Katherine Marie Lobdell, affectionately known to friends and family as Katy, peacefully departed this life on October 12, 2024, in Huntsville, Texas. Born on September 15, 1926, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

As a dedicated switchboard operator and devoted homemaker, she exemplified hard work and commitment in both her career and family life. Katy was a proud graduate of Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City. Katy's spirited nature was evident in her many interests. She found joy in reading mystery books, latch hooking, various crafts, moments spent in the challenge of word puzzles, and time spent indulging in her favorite game shows. Known for her playful spirit, she always liked to tease and be teased, bringing laughter and joy to the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her loving children, Barbie Troyer and husband, Bill of Colleyville, Gary Lobdell of Poolville, and Luann Gallant of Huntsville. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Steven Troyer and wife, Lacey of Spring; Jenny Horton and husband, Dan of Lewisville; Matthew Lobdell and wife, Brittany of Poolville; Maggie Lobdell of Springtown; and Dallas Gallant and wife, Cassie of Magnolia. Katy was also a proud great-grandmother to Bowen Lobdell, Adam Horton, Vaughn Horton, Derek Troyer, Zayne Troyer, August Lobdell, Melodie Lobdell, Conner Lobdell, Meelah Lobdell, Harper Gallant, and Beckett Gallant, each of whom will carry fond memories of her in their hearts.

A memorial service to celebrate Katy's life will be held on October 26, 2024, at Heritage Oak Funeral Home, located at 1080 Interstate 45 South, Huntsville, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember and honor her spirit from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Katy's love, laughter, and the mark she made on the lives of those she knew will remain an everlasting tribute to her memory. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
