Kim Marie Pettis, 55, passed away on December 21, 2022, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Kim was born May 4, 1967, in Dousman Waukesha County, WI to Wilma (nee Pitt) Pettis and the late Carl Pettis. She was the middle child of three, an older sister Beverly and a younger twin brother Barry. Kim’s early education began in Wales and Dousman, attending at Kettle Moraine Dousman’s Middle school and High school. She later studied art at Lone Star College and Glassell school of Art.
Kim retired from The Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center where she worked for 25 plus years as an Air Traffic Controller. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, all forms of art and was a life-long learner. She loved spending time with family and friends, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a caring and devoted friend, always thinking of others first. As the old saying goes “To know her was to love her.”
Kim leaves to cherish her loving memory her loving partner William Brisbane, mother Wilma Pettis, (mother in law Gloria Brisbane-Benedit), sister Beverly (Don) Sebetic, brother Barry (Christina Walter) Pettis, nieces and nephews Brittany (Nick), Stephane (Sebastian), Vincent and Christian, great niece and nephew Eliana and Vincent, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Patrick, and her father Carl Pettis.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be at a later date.
