Larry Gene Golden was born on December 31, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he lived until he was 1 year old. Larry was born to Floyd James Golden and Mairie (Walters) Golden. He was the 1
st
of 3 children. He grew up in Orange County, California where he attended Buena Park High School. Larry joined the United States Air Force after high school and served from 1968 to 1974 during The Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart medal, amongst others.
After serving his country, Larry attended University of Colorado and University of Denver and graduated with a Bachelor of Science followed by a JD degree and began his career as an Attorney.
Larry retired in 2007 after serving over 30 years in his profession, residing in Cypress, Texas for 30 years and 5 years in Willis, Texas. After retirement he was involved with the Shriner Masonic Lodge as a Shriner Clown and was a doting grandfather.
The most important and memorable events in his life were proudly serving his county, the births of his children and their graduations, and the births of his grandchildren. Larry enjoyed Sporting Clays, genealogy and gardening, while enjoying Beach Boys, CCR, and Jimmy Buffet. Larry’s best friend was Greg Martin.
Larry was loyal, dependable, adventurous, and had a very caring heart. Larry is survived by his sons Thomas and David, grandson Colin, granddaughter Emilie, and daughter-in-law Sarah. He will be forever missed and loved.
