Lauren Janeé Vassigh

Lauren Janeé Vassigh (43) passed into eternal rest on Thursday, February 1 0 , 2022.  Born February 27, 1978, in Plano, Texas, she was a 1996 graduate of Klein High School, earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas Women’s University College of Nursing, Houston, Texas, and received her Masters of Nursing Degree from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, in 2013, graduating with a Nurse Practitioner’s Degree.

Growing up, Lauren started playing soccer in Kindergarten, and soon with others in her class learned and excelled in the sport where her recreational team, Crossfire, won 2 nd place the first year eligible for the South Texas State Tournament as 3 rd graders, and the next year, as 4 th graders won 1 st place at Five statewide Invitational Tournaments plus winning 1 st at the South Texas Youth Soccer Championships Games. Throughout Intermediate, High School and College, she played on select soccer teams, placing and winning first at many Invitational Tournaments.  She lettered in Drama after appearing in many performances at Klein High School, culminating with her Senior year’s One Act Play winning 1 st at State Meet.  She chose Drama as her major her first year in college before gaining an interest in the medical field of nursing.

After receiving her nursing degree, Lauren worked as a Travel Nurse in the D.C. area, then for a couple of years in Baltimore, Maryland.  While enrolled in Shenandoah University, she worked in hospitals in the D.C. area and throughout Virginia. Since receiving her Master's Degree, Lauren has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in clinics, doctors’ offices, and hospitals in the Houston area and elsewhere in Texas.

*Lauren’s memorial service will be held in the Main Ballroom at the Klein Multipurpose Center between 4 & 8 PM on her birthday, Sunday, February 27.  It will be a memorial service, reception and celebration of life, all in one.  The address is 7500 Farm to Market 2920, Klein, TX, 77379.  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you consider making a contribution to a trust we’re setting up for her two year old daughter, Monroe Grace , via https://www.gofundme.com/f/monroes-trust .  Flowers are still welcome and can be delivered to the Main Ballroom as early as 3 PM on the 27 th , please no earlier.*

She is preceded in death by her nephew Tommy Toranto IV, her brother-in-law Thomas Toranto III, her dear Aunt Kitty to whom she was very close, and other numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends and her two beloved cats, Sherlock and Mackenzie and dogs, Daisy and Hunter.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Thomson, 22 month old daughter, Monroe Grace, stepsons Tyler, Drake, and Tate; her Mother, Janice McFarlin Vassigh and Father, Ali Reza Vassigh; Father-in-law Douglas Thomson and wife Martha; Mother-in-law Sherry Smith and husband, Larry; four siblings, Daria V. Clark, husband Tom, son Andrew Ramirez and wife Jennifer, daughter Julia Ramirez and son Dean, daughter Gabriella Ramirez; brother Brian Vassigh, wife Deanna, and five sons, Connor, Austin, Blake, Evan and David; sister, Danica Vassigh, daughter Esabella and son Reagan; sister Sarah V. Toranto-Smith and husband Matthew Smith; Sister-in-law Teryl Booth, husband Tony, and sons Weston and Logan; Aunt Ouida Mitchell, Aunt Betty Brock, Aunt Edwina Hutsell and numerous cousins, and multitudes of friends in Texas, Virginia, D.C., California, Georgia, Florida, and France; and her precious little dog, the Perky Pomeranian, Snowfox.

Lauren, Tommy and Monroe regularly attended The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas.  The Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:21 -  “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Lauren, Love, you gained your new home in Heaven.

Lauren definitely left an impression on all she met, even the thousands she cared for as Nurse.  Greatly missed by all, that dynamic whirlwind of creativity and care, love and zest for life will forever spread her caressing, energetic care where needed in Heaven.
