Louis Lopez

Louis Cooper Lopez, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the age of 74.

Louis was born to parents Louis Cabaso Lopez and Domatila Gutierrez on May 12, 1946 in San Antonio, TX. He grew up the youngest of five and attended Thomas Edison High School. He enlisted in the United States Marines in 1963 and later reenlisted with the United States Navy in 1965 where he spent 6 years serving in the Vietnam War. After his service in the military he began his civilian career as a videographer and photographer.

Louis married Betty Pozo in 1988 in Lufkin, TX and had one child, Jeffery Joshua Lopez. Louis spent the majority of the 90s as a videographer for various news stations in Houston, TX, along with obtaining his cosmetology license with his wife Betty, and was later granted retirement from his service in the military in 2002.3

Louis is survived by his wife, Betty Lopez; his son, Jeffery Lopez and wife Jessica; his daughter Lisa Lopez; his brother Robert Lopez; and his four grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Jonathan Wilson, Dylan Lopez, and Zachary Lopez. He is preceded in death by his father Louis C. Lopez; his mother, Domatila Gutierrez Kapitzky; his sister Irene and Mary; his brother Francisco; and his son Louis E. Lopez.

Louis’ wishes were to have his ashes spread with his siblings in San Antonio and in Seattle, Washington at a later date.
