Mary Anne Louise Fiala, 76, passed from this earth on Thursday, November 11, 2021, in her home with her husband Josef by her side. She was born November 14, 1944, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, to the late August and Mary Lempka. Mary Anne is survived by her husband Josef of Humble, Texas; daughter, Laura (Robert) Oyler of Taylorville, Illinois; son, Thomas (companion Sylvia) Lukas of Spring, Texas; son, Timothy (Sue) Lukas of St. Clair, Michigan; son, Richard Lukas of Dallas, Texas; son, Josef S. (Donna) Fiala of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Lindsey (Lucas) Petersen of Springfield, Illinois; Ryan (Satsuki) Oyler of Okinawa, Japan; Jessica Oyler of Taylorville, Illinois; Lizzie and Christopher Lukas of St. Clair, Michigan; sisters, Teresa Hewitt, Connie Frakich, Anita Mason, Clara Fleming, sister-in-law, Adeline Lempka; and her faithful pets, Max, Ginger and Sylvester. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Ambrose, Vincent, August, Joseph and Arthur; and sister, Ruth. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Humble, Texas. She enjoyed singing at mass and especially loved it when all of her kids attended 7 a.m. mass with her. Her favorite pastimes were playing cards, board games and dominoes; reading about her faith; having her family visit her. Mary Anne’s lifelong desire was to move back up north where she could see snow. Her cremated remains will be brought to Illinois where this can become a reality where she will await her husband of 50 years to join her. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Illinois.
