Oscar Alfonso Mejia, a beloved member of the Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula community in Honduras and a dedicated practitioner of law, passed away on August 22, 2023, in Houston, Texas. He was born on December 4, 1937, in San Nicolas de Copan, Honduras. Oscar's remarkable career spanned many years, during which he contributed greatly to the legal profession.

Oscar studied law at the prestigious Universidad Autonoma de Honduras and became a respected member of the Colegio de Abogados de Honduras. His passion for justice and dedication to his clients made him a prominent figure in the legal community in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. His knowledge and expertise touched the lives of many.

In addition to his legal career, Oscar held an esteemed position as the President of Club Deportivo de España. Through this role, he fostered a love for soccer and brought people together through their shared passion. Oscar's leadership skills and commitment to promoting unity will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to witness his efforts.

However impressive his professional achievements may have been, Oscar's true legacy lies in his role as a loving and caring family man. He was a devoted husband and provided unwavering support to his wife Olga Argentina Rosa, who he married in 1966, throughout their lives together. Oscar always ensured that his family had the best life possible, putting their needs before his own. His selfless nature was an inspiration to those around him.

Oscar will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warm smile, compassionate heart, and wise counsel touched countless lives in profound ways. He leaves behind a lasting impact on the lives he has encountered throughout his journey.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Oscar's incredible life at a "Celebration of Life" service. The service will take place at Spring Baptist Church, located at 633 E. Louetta Rd., Spring, TX 77373, United States, on September 2, 2023. The service will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 PM.

Oscar is predeceased by his parents, Hector Mejia Lara and Emma Urquia de Mejia. Oscar's brothers Freddy and Ricardo, as well as his sister Thelma and his beloved daughter Leda Carolina Mejia.

Oscar's presence will be greatly missed by his extended family as well. His wife Olga Argentina Rosa stood by his side throughout their incredible journey together, offering unwavering love and support. His children Celvin Ramos (Karla), Oscar Mejia Jr.,Hector A. Mejia, Rene Mejia, and Ricardo Mejia inherit their father's legacy of compassion and dedication.

Oscar was also a cherished grandfather to Alejandra Gonzales and her husband Zech, Fernanda Lara, Tiffany Thorp and her husband Casey, Celvin J. Ramos and his wife Luisa, Sophia Ramos, Kathia Chacon and her husband Josh, Miguel Lara Jr.,  Ricardo Mejia Jr., Hector Mejia Jr., Tommy Mejia, and Olga Mejia. In addition to being a loving grandfather, he was also blessed with great-grandchildren Aaron, Addison, Sophia, Wynter, Colin, Lucas, Melanie, Melissa, and Dakota.

In this time of deep sorrow for Oscar's family and friends who survive him in mourning let us remember the profound impact he made during his time with us. His kindness transcended cultures and boundaries while leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

May Oscar Alfonso Mejia rest in eternal peace in Heaven knowing that he has left behind a legacy built on love, compassion, and dedication. His memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will continue to inspire us all.
