Patricia Ann Makel (10/30/1943 – 11/24/2022)
Mrs. Patricia Ann Makel passed away in Houston, TX after battling extended health issues.
Her passion was helping others and she always looked out for her friends and family. She held leadership positions in multiple civil rights and community service organizations. She led efforts to feed the homeless for many years in Dallas, TX and argued tirelessly for the rights of those without voices.
She was an accomplished cook and baker and ran a successful catering business for several years. She had a tremendous green thumb and could grow anything that needed saving. She had a unique eye for interior design and fashion and took great pride in her appearance and that of her surroundings. Her grandchildren were her heart, and they will spend the rest of their lives living up to the dreams she had for them.
She is survived by her son Bernard Jr., his wife Erin, and her grandchildren Bryon Christopher, Matthew, Kendel, and Alexis. She was preceded in her journey by her son Bryon Patrick and her husband Bernard Sr.
Patricia’s final resting spot will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Patricia’s honor to the Salvation Army.
