Becky Jane Kelly Babbitt (Becca, Aunt BB) born January 31, 1965, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at the age of 59. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 3:30 pm at College Park High School, 3701 College Park Dr., The Woodlands, Texas. Mr. Dave Feranchak, a longtime friend and colleague, will be officiating. Becca was born in Olney, TX to William Ryan and Mary Patricia Kelly. She married Darrell Wayne Babbitt in a sunrise ceremony on August 3, 1985 in Waxahachie, Texas. Darrell and Becca have two sons, Dillon Wayne who is now attending the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and Avery James who will be attending The University of Missouri at Kansas City Conservatory in the fall. Becca is survived by her mother, Mary and siblings Maureen Sittig of Liberty Hills, Texas, Terry Kelly of Flower Mound, Texas, Therese Lohman of Houston, Texas, Katherine Sadau of Dalhart, Texas, Loretta Dixon of Montbelvieu, Texas, Kevin Kelly of Carrollton, Texas, Patrick Kelly of Anchorage, Alaska and many nieces and nephews. Becca earned her M.A. in Theater History from Southwest Texas State University, her B.F.A.in Theater from Midwestern State University, her A.B.D. on Doctorate from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and her Teaching Certification from Southwest Texas State University. While earning her degrees, Becca served as a Graduate Assistant, Stage Carpenter, Scenic Shop Foreman and Technician and Production Procurer. In 1998 Darrell and Becca moved to Conroe, Texas. In 1999 she began her teaching career at Coldspring High School as Theater Arts Director for 3 years. In 2002 she started teaching at Conroe High School in the Theater Arts department until her retirement in 2022. Becca loved teaching and was passionate about her opportunity to motivate her students. She received many accolades throughout her career for outstanding contributions to her profession, but her greatest achievement was raising two outstanding and successful sons with her adoring husband, Darrell.. Becca loved spending time camping with her family, playing with her dogs, attending theater productions, reading and gardening. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cancer research.
