Rolan Chambless, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 3, 2025, in Spring, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on March 28, 1957, in Littlefield, Texas, Rolan devoted his life to helping others through his 40 years of service with The Salvation Army. His commitment to his career reflected his golden heart, always giving selflessly and radiating warmth to those around him.
Rolan was a man of deep faith, and God was at the center of his life. He was a God-loving and God-fearing individual, embodying the values of kindness, generosity, and community spirit. Described as outgoing, friendly, and welcoming, Rolan had the remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, touching countless hearts along the way.
His family was everything to him, and cherished memories abound from time spent with his wife, Virda, and daughter, Elizabeth. Rolan loved engaging in joyful activities with Elizabeth and her friends, often taking them out on the boat for water tubing adventures. These outings were filled with laughter as he playfully tried to knock them off the tube, though over the years, they mastered the skill of staying on, much to Rolan’s delight.
A passionate musician, he enjoyed singing in praise bands and brought his horn to life every Sunday at church services, sharing his love for music as an expression of his faith. Rolan was also an enthusiastic supporter of his daughter’s endeavors, holding season tickets for all four years of her high school football games. Win or lose, rain or shine, he was always there, cheering on the boys with unwavering enthusiasm.
In addition to his family-time bonding, Rolan found joy in boating and skiing, loving every moment spent by the water or at the beach. He was an avid sports fan, particularly cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, where he found camaraderie in the thrills and excitement of the game.
Rolan Chambless is survived by his devoted wife, Virda Chambless; beloved daughter, Elizabeth Chambliss; and cherished brother, David Chambless. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. As we remember Rolan, we celebrate a life well-lived, one that exemplified grace and an unwavering commitment to family and faith.
