Russell Allen Chase, 11/12/1960 – 11/01/2020

Russell Allen Chase left this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 1, 2020, after a brave battle with cancer.  Born November 12, to Jack and Connie Chase, he was raised in Clinton, Iowa.  In 1980 He moved to the Texas Gulf Coast, and spent most of his life in and around the Gulf Coast area.  Russ spent most of his adult years employed by Alfred Conhagen in Texas City, and enjoyed wonderful relationships with his colleagues, his vendors and his customers.  In 2009 Russ relocated to Pasadena, Texas. Russ will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his persevering spirit, his patriotism and love for his Country and his commitment to the preservation of the U.S. Constitution.  He also loved to write and had a way with words.  He was an avid golf player.  He loved to serve others and was very proud to able to be part of two mission trips to El Salvador in the last 6 years to do his part to make things better in this underserved country.  During the last couple months of his life, Russ was most proud to have participated in the Franklin Graham Prayer Walk 2020 in Washington D.C., and also to be reunited after many years with his dearest friend, Garo Challian in Denver, Colorado. Russ is survived by his parents, Jack and Connie Chase of Spring Hill, FL, his devoted wife of 9 years Allison Chase of Pasadena, Texas, his daughters, Daneille (Christian) Sandoval of Austin, and Racheal Chase of Texas City,  his stepdaughters Lindsey (John) Nanninga of Cy Fair, Erin (Bradley) Mims of Baytown, and Mallory Barrington of Seabrook, Grandchildren Carter Joe Barrington, Lincoln Thomas and Grant Paul Nanninga, Paizley and Madilyn Mims, and Sienna Sandoval, a sister-in-law Lisa Hepner and brother-in-laws Jeff and Scott Hepner, and many aunts, uncles and beloved cousins.  He is also survived by his very much loved dog, companion and lap warmer, Miss Daisy.  Russ was preceded in death by his dear brother, Mitchell Chase, earlier this year.  They are now reunited. A service of celebration of Russ’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Golden Acres Baptist Church, 2812 Pansy Street, Pasadena, Texas, with Pastor Brian Hellard serving as officiant.  Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service.  Honorary Pall Bears are Garo Challian, Danny Hansen, Randy Morris, Carl Pittman, Steve Miller, Richard Reese, Scott Shuler and Mark Woods.  A link will provided for those interested in viewing the service virtually. Special thanks to the physicians and staff at Houston Methodist Hospital, who over the last 2 years treated Russ with dignity and compassion, and allowed him to do things “his way.” If desired, memorials may be made in Russ’s memory to Golden Acres Baptist Church or to Pasadena Community Ministries. 2 Timothy 4:7-8  “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
