Saundra Louise Mader October 16, 1946 – July 10, 2020.
On July 10, Saundra Mader was called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. Waiting there with open arms was her son, Mike Mader; her mother Gloria Edwards, father John Edwards and her sister, Cindy Edwards. She is survived by her husband, Michael C. Mader; their daughter Melanie Mader Hall; their grandchildren, Macy Cosmas, John Mader, John Hall and James Hall; their great-grandson, Michael J. Cosmas; and her brother, Johnny Edwards.
Saundra & Mike were married on March 2, 1964 and were married 56 years. They had two beautiful children, Mike & Melanie. Family was everything to her and she would do anything for them – she always put them first in everything she did. She instilled in her loved ones to always do better, be better and live their best lives. She often encouraged them to live by two of her favorite mottos: “show me who you are, and I’ll believe it” and “actions speak louder than words”.
Saundra’s creativity and love of art started at a young age. She studied art and developed a love of painting. She especially enjoyed landscape art which depicted their travels through the Smoky Mountains. She later earned her certification in floral design and opened the first floral shop on 1960 in the early 70’s. She later pursued a career buying and selling antiques in the Houston area which led her to moving and restoring old historical homes. She then went back to her first love of painting, and created her own company where she designed her original artwork on t-shirts and began selling them at apparel markets across the country. Later, she earned her Real Estate License and became a successful real estate agent in the Houston area for over 20 years. In 2011, she began one of her most beloved projects, designing and creating a beautiful home on Lake Conroe for her and her family to enjoy and create lasting memories.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life in honor of Saundra L. Mader on August 21
