Steven Jon Kubas

Steven Jon Kubas was born on March 4, 1986 and left this world way too early on May 12, 2019.  He is survived by his parents, Jon and Amy Kubas; his sister, Kimberly Kubas MacRae and husband Cody; and his 3 nephews, Colton, Caden, and Cash.  He is also survived by his grandparents, Peggy Wilkins, Jim Wilkins, and Kaye Kubas; uncle, Steve Wilkins and wife Susan; cousins, Ashley Halsell and husband Jimmy, Alysa Wilkins, Kirsten Kubas, Robert Kubas, Kevin Kubas and wife Valerie; and many childhood friends.  Steven was predeceased by his uncle, David Kubas. Steven was extremely intelligent, athletic, respectful, kind, and had a tremendous sense of humor.  His 3 nephews were the light of his life and he loved spending time with them.  Not just to play, but also to tease and laugh at them.  He had a big heart and loved animals, and could make you laugh at the drop of a hat.  Unfortunately, Steven suffered deeply with severe social anxiety and depression for most of his life, but hid it from everyone.  He never talked about it or shared with his family or friends, and ultimately the pain was so unbearable he took his own life.

We choose to celebrate his life and are thankful for the 33 years we had with him.  Steven, we love you and miss you.  Our hearts are broken for you and we know you are now with Jesus and finally at peace.  May our Lord wrap his arms around you and hold you tightly, and we'll see you again one day in Heaven.  Rest in Peace Bud!
