Timothy Morgan

October 28, 1956 — July 5, 2023

Timothy (Tim) W. Morgan, 66, died July 5, 2023 in Houston, Texas, following a brief battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was surrounded by family when he passed.

Tim was a loving husband, father, Ganpaw, brother, and son.   Born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 28, 1956 to Bettye Jo (West) and Robert L. Morgan, he grew up in the Richland Hills area, near his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.   Active in Boy Scouts, he earned his Eagle Scout at the early age of 14 and continued scouting activities through early college via various scout camps and treks to Philmont Scout Ranch.   He played trumpet for the Richland High School Rebel Marching Band, graduating in the class of 1975.

He obtained his BBA from Stephen F. Austin State University (Class of 1979), where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.  It was there that he met his future wife, Sue.   They married in July 1980 and settled in Houston.  They have one daughter, Ashley Morgan-Olvera whom he adored.  He was so very proud of her accomplishments.

After school, Tim worked several accounting jobs, eventually landing in the Public Accounting field.  He owned a CPA practice in Conroe/Montgomery, an area which he grew to love; and where he planned to spend retirement with Sue, near Ashley’s growing family.

A Texan through and through, he loved all things Texas – The Alamo, The Battleship Texas, Whataburger, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Astros.   Many family trips were taken visiting historical and natural sites throughout the state.  He was also a car enthusiast and always had more cars than drivers in the household. His enthusiasm led him to the Cosworth Vega Owners Association in 1988, and the family traveled around the country to their annual roundup and other events.  He proudly hosted CVOA roundups in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio over the years.

Tim is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Sue; daughter Ashley Morgan-Olvera and her husband Gelasio, granddaughter Estelee Olvera, all of Conroe; sister Cindy Morgan Miles (and husband Mike) of Keller, TX; brothers David Wiley (and wife Pam Coukos) of Takoma Park, MD, and Robert Morgan (and wife Tammy) of Huntland, TN; stepfather Gene Wiley of Silver Spring, MD, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Dobbin Community Center,  695 South FM 1486, Montgomery, TX from 2-5 pm.   To RSVP visit http://evite.me/ct2BDjBfRF
