Clay Bozeman

January 5, 1964 — March 19, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William (Clay) Bozeman, age 61, of Houston, Texas, on March 19, 2025. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and a steadfast friend.

A native son of Pasadena, TX, Clay was born January 05, 1964, to Richard James (R.J.) Bozeman and Joyce Hoover Bozeman.

He graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School with the Class of 1982 and studied at Houston Community College. After his formal education, Clay began a career at the Harris County Sheriff's Office where he served honorably as a Deputy Sheriff for twenty-four (24) years.

He had a deep love of music and enjoyed all genres, evident from his vast and eclectic record collection containing 70s rock to jazz selections. Clay was a student of architecture and design, with a particular appreciation for mid-century modern. He was an avid reader, a collector of watches, and had a lifelong passion for cars, appreciating both their design and craftsmanship.

Clay was passionate about food and cooking and conveyed his appreciation and love for neighbors and family by sharing meals. He lovingly took care of Myra in every way, from brewing her morning coffee to making sure she had breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day.

A loyal sports fan, Clay supported all the Houston teams and could be found cheering his beloved Rockets, Astros, and Texans at the court and on the field. Clay's love for sports and the outdoors began in his childhood, playing Little League baseball and basketball in the South Belt-Ellington Area, where he built lifelong friendships. His passion for staying active continued into adulthood, whether cycling, walking, tending to his yard, and playing softball with friends.

One of the greatest sources of joy in Clay's life was the companionship of his dogs. They offered him unwavering loyalty and affection, creating a bond that he treasured.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Myra Badoy Bozeman; his mother, Joyce Hoover Bozeman; his sister, Linda Madden both of Bryan, Texas; his brothers Dr. Michael Bozeman of Tyler, Texas and Jerry Bozeman (Kelly) of League City, TX. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew: Lynsey Madden Koenning (Chris); Amber Madden; James Madden (Victoria); Lauren Bozeman Youngs (Jesse); and Juliana Bozeman. Other family members include his aunt Susie Witcher of Marshall, TX and cousin Charles Baugh of Hawaii. Clay cherished his extended family as well to include his mother-in-law, Florence Badoy and brother-in-law Mark Badoy both of Houston, Texas.

Clay is preceded in death by his father, R.J. Bozeman, and his brother-in-law, David Madden.

Clay's presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

In this time of grief, may we find solace in each other and in the memory of a life lived in service, kindness, and the pursuit of beauty.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, at Lindale Assembly of God.
