William Robert “Bob” Fletcher II, 81, a United States Army Veteran and resident of Katy, Texas, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2024. Bob was born October 13, 1942 in Beeville, Texas, to Claude and Alice Fletcher. He married Judith Ann “Judi” McPhail on November 29, 1969. Judi earned her heavenly wings on April 18, 2019, the year they would celebrate their Golden Anniversary.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Kim Shostak and her husband, Stuart, of New York; his sister, Cynthia Fletcher, of Houston; along with two precious grandchildren, Hudson and Emily Shostak. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Lynne Lynch.
Lovingly known as "Papa," he enjoyed spoiling his girls, hunting, fishing, entering barbecue competitions and spending time with family and friends. Bob was a greeter, active with Cornerstone Bible Study class and a deacon for years at Second Baptist Church, West Campus. He also regularly volunteered with Judi at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was wonderful dad, husband and friend who will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at the Williams House of Second Baptist Church, West Campus in Katy, Texas with Rev. Roger Parker officiating. The family welcomes friends to a graveside ceremony preceeding the service at 11 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Cemetery (section 2) in Houston, Texas.
